Love Roots Team
Veronica Cerda
LPC & Founder
Love Roots Therapy was started by me, Veronica Cerda. I grew up in Dallas and always dreamed of becoming a counselor and creating a practice that helps individuals and couples with concerns and issues that have taken over their happiness. I grew up in a Mexican household where mental health was not believed to be something you sought help for. “You just have to get over it” was what I was told. When I went away to college, my outlook was expanded, and I sought counseling for myself.
At that point, I realized the benefits and ultimately, the results of being in therapy. Now as a counselor, I see my clients growing, healing, and overcoming obstacles they feared they would never overcome. It is the most rewarding feeling in the world and now my purpose is to continue this journey to help others.

Couples Therapy, Grief, Depression, Executive Dysfunction LGBTQ+,& EMDR
I come from a rich heritage of Mexican, German, and Welsh immigrant families who made their home in the melting pot of South Texas. Growing up, I was surrounded by family cultures that didn’t believe in therapy, discouraged sharing emotions, and avoided discussions about family trauma. This background sparked my journey of self-discovery, personal therapy, and a deep commitment to understanding human behavior. Through earning three degrees in human behavior and training as a clinical therapist, I dedicated myself to mastering every theory, technique, and modality I could find to help people heal from family and generational trauma. My goal is to help you uncover your natural ability to self-regulate, build meaningful connections, and explore the parts of yourself that may have been hidden. Together, we’ll identify your core needs, find new ways to meet them, and help you become the most whole and fulfilled version of yourself.

LGBTQ+, Trauma, & Gottman Trained expert
Becoming a mental health counselor was a natural evolution for me, fueled by a genuine fascination with the intricacies of the human mind and a profound awareness of the repercussions of neglecting mental health. Delving into the complexities of psychology and observing firsthand the detrimental effects of overlooking mental well-being underscored the urgency and importance of this field for me. I am deeply committed to helping individuals navigate their inner landscapes, equipping them with the tools and insights needed to cultivate resilience and lead fulfilling lives.

Grief, Play Therapy, Family Dynamics, Eating Disorder, Spanish and Portugese Speaking
I was born and raised in Brazil, where emotional expression and connection were deeply woven into the culture, yet mental health wasn’t always something we talked about openly. Growing up, I witnessed the unspoken struggles people carried—whether it was sadness behind a smile, tension within families, or the quiet ways that trauma shaped daily life. My path into therapy was fueled by both personal reflection and a strong desire to walk alongside others as they face life’s challenges. I specialize in working with individuals navigating eating disorders, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, and family dynamics. I approach therapy with a warm, grounded presence and a commitment to seeing each person as whole, even in their most vulnerable moments. For me, therapy isn’t about fixing—it’s about understanding. It’s about reconnecting to parts of ourselves that may have been pushed aside or forgotten. I believe in moving at a pace that feels right for each person and in creating a space where real, lasting change can unfold—gently, over time.

Couples Counseling, DBT, Trauma, Geek Therapy , Neurodivergent therapy , and Grief
I work with individuals and couples who have often felt different or misunderstood, especially those who haven’t found traditional therapy helpful. My approach is trauma-informed, attachment-focused, and grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with an emphasis on nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and practical life skills. I integrate creative approaches, including Geek Therapy, to make sessions engaging, collaborative, and tailored to the way your brain works. My specialties include couples therapy, trauma and attachment, women’s health, anxiety, depression, and premarital counseling. Therapy with me is not a quick fix, but a supportive, skill-building journey toward healthier relationships, emotional resilience, and lasting growth.
Danya Qureshi
Office Administrator
I come from a South Asian background where family, culture, and resilience are deeply valued. Growing up, I was surrounded by messages that emphasized strength, privacy, and perseverance — but not always emotional expression. Conversations about mental health were often avoided, and seeking therapy was rarely encouraged.
Those experiences shaped my understanding of how much people can carry silently. They also sparked my appreciation for spaces that make healing feel safe and accessible. While I am not a therapist, working in a mental health office allows me to be part of breaking stigma and creating a more welcoming path to care — especially for individuals who may feel unsure about reaching out.
In my administrative role, I strive to ensure that the first step toward support feels warm, respectful, and culturally mindful. I believe healing begins the moment someone feels heard and understood — even in their very first interaction. Being part of that process is something I value deeply.
